LATE ARRIVAL REMINDER
If patients are more than five minutes late for an appointment, they may not be seen. The Reception Team will check whether the Clinician will still able to see the patient if they arrive between five to ten minutes late. This is due to the fact that if patients arrive late for their appointment, it pushes the Clinician behind their working schedule. This makes it unfair on patients who have arrived on time and for those requiring visits on that day. Any patient arriving over ten minutes late will unfortunately, not be seen and will have to re-arrange their appointment. We do encourage patients that if you are running late, to telephone the practice so the Reception Team can advise the Clinician as soon as possible and obtain an answer.
Clinicians do their best to meet the individual needs of patients within the time allocated. Unfortunately, this is not always possible depending on the complexity of the issue and may cause the Clinician to fall behind. Surgery Staff endeavour to inform waiting patients if this event occurs.
REQUESTED SAMPLES
If you are asked to provide any sample by the Clinician, we kindly ask that this is dropped into the surgery no later than 12 noon. This is because the samples are collected at 1:00pm each day by the laboratory for testing, and our Nursing Team require some time to ensure all samples are correctly packaged for collection.
THORPE ASTLEY
At our Thorpe Astley Branch, while we are able to provide blank forms to patients, we are currently unable to take in completed forms due to patient confidentiality, as we would need to transport those forms to our main branch. We are in the process of obtaining some equipment so that completed forms can be returned to Thorpe Astley, and we will update patients regarding the same in due course. At present, all completed forms need to be returned to our main Kingsway site only.
