Moved from London to train in Leicester Medical School. Qualified from Leicester in 2007. Remained in Leicester to train as a GP in the Leicester Deanary. Special interest includes Diabetes care and Family planning.
DR NIKHIL MAHATMA
Completed Medical Training at Charles University in Prague. Went on to do Foundation Training in North Wales, followed by two years of core medical training in Nottingham. Completed training as a GP in Leicestershire and has completed a PGcert with distinction on medical leadership, research and management.

Dr Anjum graduated from Charles University, Prague in 2004 and worked in general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and anaesthesia for a significant amount of time before training to become a GP in Leicester, qualifying in 2016. He has completed a fellowship and post graduate diploma in medical leadership, education and research. He has a keen interest in ENT, respiratory medicine, pain management and quality improvement. He also works closely with colleagues on the Royal College of General Practitioner's Leicester faculty.

Nurse Practitioners
Kingsway Surgery has a Nurse Practitioners who works alongside the doctors. Nurse Practitioners are trained specialist nurses. They have undertaken additional medical education in order to provide advanced nursing care and prescribe medication. Nurse Practitioners can provide treatment and advice for many problems for which you have seen a doctor for in the past. Their main areas of expertise are in the management of common illnesses and long term conditions.

Receptionist
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries.

Health Visitors
The Health Visiting (HV) team offers support and advice on a variety of subjects concerning the health, development and growth of your child aged 0-5 years old. The HV team also provide support to the family as a whole including emotional health support for mothers. Support is offered via telephone contact, home visits, and contact within community venues e.g. local Children’s centre and at the weekly appointment based Child Health Clinic.
