September 2024
RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS (RSV) VACCINATION PROGRAMME
Respiratory Syncytial Virus, also known as RSV is a common winter virus responsible for many coughs and colds during the winter months. The UK is the first country in the world to offer a national vaccination programme that uses the same vaccine to protect both infants and adults from RSV.
Eligible patients will be receiving text messages inviting them to book in for the vaccine from 1st September 2024.
FLU AND COVID VACCINATION PROGRAMME
Our Flu and Covid vaccination clinics are due to start from October 2024. Eligible patients that meet the criteria will be sent text messages in mid to late September inviting them to book in for these vaccines.
ZERO TOLERANCE REMINDER
We would like to remind patients that abusive behaviour, which includes foul language towards our staff members, will not be tolerated. Anyone found to be exhibiting such behaviour will be sent a warning letter from the practice.
PRESCRIPTION REQUEST REMINDER
We would like to remind patients that the practice operates a four working day period for prescription requests. We cannot guarantee that any requests submitted the same day as the medication is needed will be completed on that day. Therefore, we respectfully request patients allow sufficient time for their prescription to be processed by both the practice and the pharmacy.
In addition, please be aware that the practice does not take prescription requests over the phone. Requests are to be made via paper slip (which can be dropped into the black mental post box just inside the main doors), online or via the Pharmacy. The Prescribing telephone line is for enquiries only and not requests.
HEALTH REVIEW FORMS
The Practice currently operates several health review forms, such as medication review forms, mental health review forms, etc. These are usually sent via text message, but paper hardcopies can be printed at the front desk upon request. Patients are sent such forms when their records indicate they are due for the review. Reviews help us in seeing what treatment is working for you and whether any adjustments need to be made in your treatment plan. They are an important process in ensuring you receive the best care to maintain your health. Failure to complete the same may result in your medication quantity being reduced (from 28 tablets to 14 tablets for example) on your next prescription.
