PHYSIOTHERAPY AT KINGSWAY
We’d like to take this opportunity to remind patients that we have Physiotherapy appointments available at the surgery, which can be made through referral from our clinicians or by telephoning our Reception Team to book. There is also some availability for telephone appointments with our Physiotherapists Monday-Wednesday during extended hours.
MENTAL HEALTH
We may be in February, but the “January Blues” could still linger for many people. If you feel you are struggling with your mental health, please contact the surgery to discuss the same with a clinician who will advise on the best treatment plan for your circumstances. We also have a section on our website under “Social Prescribing” with helplines and organisations that can help with a wide range of issues, from financial problems to bereavement.
Alternatively, you can get in touch with mental health organisations such as Vitaminds, Samaritans, Rethink Mental Illness who can offer support and advice through text messaging, calls and emails if you would prefer.
WAYS TO BOOK APPOINTMENTS
We would like to remind patients that over the past two years, we have made booking an appointment with the practice more accessible as we understand the needs for patients to arrange appointments around their working schedules.
We have the Engage Consult software available on the homepage of our website for non-urgent matters. This includes arranging appointments, prescription queries and admin queries. Please be aware that you will be contacted through the Engage Consult software and therefore it is best to check this regularly for updates. Engage Consult is for non urgent matters only and for any urgent queries, we would ask to still telephone the practice at 8:00am on the day.
Also on our Website, we have the “Contact Us” form which can be submitted with an appointment request. Subsequently, we also have a “Cancel an Appointment” form which we ask to be submitted in a timely manner to cancel any appointments.
The Patient Online System has also been reinstated since the pandemic and patients who have online access can book appointments through this method. If you think this would be beneficial to you, you can request an Online Access form from the surgery or print one from our website to hand in.
You can also request an appointment by emailing the practice on Kingswaypractice.noreply@nhs.net
And as always, we still have appointments available on the day by telephoning at 8:00am.
REMINDER ON REFFERAL WAIT TIMES
There continues to be extended wait times across all hospital departments due to the ongoing recovery from the pandemic. If a referral has been made for you, you can view the current department wait times at the bottom of our website homepage, or alternatively ring the booking office for updates (0300 303 1563). Once surgery clinicians have made the referral, wait times and appointments for the same are out of the practice’s hands and there is very little we can do to expedite matters.
